On Your Own - Disability Counter Surveillance

When Faced With Adversity Be Courageous
ESTRA (Seattle) - Disability counter surveillance can be very weary, especially when you're going at it on your own. It may feel like you're carrying the world on your shoulders.  Yet, the wisdom that you have learned thus far, may be your greatest companion, so treat it as such.  Try and look at the  "whole" picture of your situation.  In this way, you can keep things in a positive point of view, and protect yourself in the best way you know how.

You can start things off by accepting that there are more of them than you and they have more resources.  That being said, no one knows you better than YOU.  An honest assessment as to where you are right now, and where you want to end up at the end of this ordeal will help you design a plan with your goal in mind, instead of being reactive to their agenda.

What small steps can you make each day that will allow you to feel better?  What things can you set aside until you are better able to deal with them, even if they are pressuring you?  Are there any healthy support systems you can rely on in the short-run to help with your transitions?

Build a personal relationship with yourself.  Spend some quiet time meditating about who you now and your needs and desires.  You will find being on your own your greatest asset.  And, this will do a lot to level the playing field.

Thanks for visiting.
